Originally for solo guitar, this particular work was written with an inverse variation approach, in that, the folksong itself is not realized fully until the last three variations; the original melody is chopped and fragmented into ever unrecognizable pieces, existing in a non-congruent environment, gradually these fragments strive to coalesce again. In this video version the music is accompanied by Chibuike Uzoma's wonderful paintings.

Performed by Ozan Sarıtepe

'Tunnels' is my second audiovisual project. Here, I combine my handmade woodcarving works with music and visuals. The carvings, through their square, slab-like outlook, have made me think about mechanical structures that yield them movements, within spaces that resemble tunnels. These structures manifest themselves at different speeds albeit happening simultaneously, adding to the surreal nature of the work.

''Towton 16'' is inspired by a facial reconstruction of a medieval soldier fallen at the Battle of Towton, on Palm Sunday, 1461. In 1996, a group of workers laying the foundations for Towton Hall stumbled upon a mass grave dating back to the 15th century. As archeologists were exhuming the bodies, burial no. 16 stood out amongst the rest; a seemingly robust individual in his late 40s, with lots of signs of previous injuries, which had healed up, most notable of which was the large cut on his lower jaw.

Transform is a video installation project realized by the Turkish choreographer and dance instructor Aydın Teker.  The first performance took place at the Istanbul Artweeks with Aydın herself as the performer. I was fortunate enough to be asked by her to come up with the music and it marks one of the most unique projects I ever worked on. I am only sharing the audio part here, the video itself on the other hand may be obtained only with permission by Aydın herself. If you are interested, please contact me at ceneren06041984@gmail.com
